What does a Weather Station measure?
A weather station is made up of a few weather reading instruments such as a barometer, thermometer and hygrometer. Each of these different instruments measures different helpful things:
- A barometer measures atmospheric pressure - this lets you know what kind of changes you can expect in the weather. Is it going to be sunny or rainy?
- A hygrometer measures humidity in the air. Comfortable and healthy living and working humidity levels are between 35 and 65% - anything higher than that can lead to poor health
A thermometer measures the air temperature. Comfortable and healthy living and working temperatures are between 18 and 24 C – so check your heat pump settings in both summer and winter.
