Setting up our Tide Clocks

How to Set Your Tidal Clock

To get your Fischer Tidal Clock functioning accurately, follow these simple steps:

Manual Setup Instructions

  1. On the back of the clock movement, you'll find:

    • A small round plastic wheel on the right side – this adjusts the regular clock hands.

    • A larger wheel at the bottom – this sets the tide indicator hand.

  2. Set the tide hand to match the time of the next high tide in your area.

    • For best accuracy, set it during a full or new moon.

    • If that’s not possible, double-check the tide hand during the next full or new moon and adjust as needed.

    • Occasional fine-tuning may be necessary.

Quick Setup Instructions

  1. Insert a high-quality AA alkaline battery.
⚠️ Avoid using heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries – they can affect accuracy.

  2. Set the time to your local time using the small wheel.

  3. Look up the next high tide in your location via Google or a trusted tide chart.

  4. Rotate the clock hands clockwise to the exact time of the next high tide (AM or PM).

  5. Move the tide hand to point to high tide using the large wheel.

  6. Carefully wind the clock hands counter-clockwise to return to the current local time.

  7. Done! Your tidal clock is now ready – perfect for planning your next fishing trip or surf session.
